Do You Associate Books with Trips?

One of the warm travel memories I find myself thinking about most is books I associate with certain trips.

Examples:

– I FINALLY read 2001 fiction Pulitzer prize winner The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay in Tonga. It was the first book I read on the kindle.

– I listened to the audiobook of Eat Pray Love in NYC during the time they were filming the movie there. I even saw a little bit of the movie filming.

– I listed to the audiobook of Wild by Cheryl Strayed in Kuala Lumpur.  I played it on the iphone speaker so my partner and I could both listen. I remember being pleased to find something we both wanted to listen to.

I tend to prefer audiobooks to reading, especially for long plane and bus rides.

Benefits of reading on trips?

The books I take on trips don’t need to be travel books per se but I like them to have a sense of adventure because it helps me feel more adventurous on the trip.

You? What books do you associate with trips you’ve taken?
